CII Annual Tourism Summit

CII Annual Tourism Summit

Event Description

The Year 2017 has been declared as the “International Year of Sustainable Tourism for Development” by the United Nations World Tourism Organization, UNWTO responsible for the promotion of responsible, sustainable and universally accessible tourism.   The tourism sector’s capability as a sustainable and inclusive development driver, especially for livelihoods, was renewed with the 10th Five Year Plan, the National Tourism Policy.   Sustainable Tourism can provide solutions to the issues of inclusive growth. Besides, the ‘return to roots’ focus, in tourism, is interlinked with increased access to information, enlarged interest in heritage and culture, improved accessibility and climate change concerns.

Against this background, CII is organizing its Annual Tourism Summit on 22 December 2017 at Kamal Mahal, ITC Maurya, New Delhi.  The Summit would focus on the theme “International Year of Sustainable Tourism for Development” and bring together the stakeholders from Ministry of Tourism, Indian States, Tourism Boards, International & Domestic tourism stakeholders, Policy Makers, Hoteliers, Tour and Travel Agents amongst others.
