Panther Conservation

WELLINGTON, Fla. (CBS12) — Panther Ridge Conservation Center in Wellington provides a home and haven for some of the world’s most majestic and endangered big cats, such as cheetahs, leopards, jaguars, servals, ocelots, and caracals.

Headkeeper Sadie Ryan and Executive Director Judy Berens showcased two clouded-leopard cubs on CBS12 News This Morning to educate viewers on big cat conservation. The leopard cubs are friendly, playful, and non-aggressive as they are only 4-months old and pose no threat.

Guests can pay a fee to play with them at the facility.

In addition to sheltering exotic cats, Panther Ridge is both an education and research facility. School groups are able to visit, interact with, and learn about endangered species in an intimate experience that few zoos could ever replicate. Guests have the ability to see these majestic big cats up close.

Panther Ridge also works cooperatively with other conservation centers around the world; shares information about the cats’ nutrition, medical care, breeding and behavior; and helps to raise money for the protection of big cats and their habitats. Panther Ridge is accredited by the Feline Conservation Federation and the USDA, and is permitted by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.
