Madhya Pradesh tourism to host ATTA’s AdventureNEXT in Bhopal

Madhya Pradesh tourism to host ATTA’s AdventureNEXT in Bhopal

In a curtain raiser event held in New Delhi, Madhya Pradesh tourism board announced the first AdventureNEXT three-day event by Adventure Travel Trade Association (ATTA) in Bhopal from December 3-5, 2018. This will be the first AdventureNEXT event in Asia and it focuses on adventure tourism by combining marketplace meetings, networking opportunities, inspirational speakers and educational sessions.  ATTA  aims to bring together countries and destinations in a region to increase awareness about the abundance of adventure travel opportunities. Macedonia, Mexico and Jordan are some of the countries where AdventureNEXT has successfully hosted events earlier.

AdventureNEXT events travel the globe introducing adventure destinations to international buyers and media. They also incorporate educational workshops and sessions covering regional topics. This event will also help the delegates to explore future-driven business opportunities from Madhya Pradesh.

AdventureNEXT India will include adventure trips throughout India for buyers and media, though Madhya Pradesh will be the centre of focus. It is a state with a rich variety of adventure travel options, natural features, and urban attractions including diverse wildlife, natural trails in the Vindhyachal and Satpura mountain ranges, lakes, bustling markets, forts, and palaces.

Hari Ranjan Rao (IAS), principal secretary tourism and managing director, Madhya Pradesh tourism development board at the event said that, “AdventureNEXT is one of the most significant events of ATTA. This is the association’s first event to be hosted in Asia, and Madhya Pradesh is privileged to have the opportunity to host this event in India in December. We will be showcasing various adventure tourism opportunities across the state by conducting pre and post familiarisation trips to various destinations. Undoubtedly, it is an honourable opportunity to present India’s beautiful heritage, and especially MP’s wildlife, handicrafts, pilgrimage and various hidden treasures worth exploring by an international platform such as ATTA. We believe that the tour will captivate the hearts and imagination of every traveller and immerse their senses in the heart of Incredible India.”

ATTA is seeking an opportunity to promote Indian tourism with its natural assets to the world through this event which will capture India’s religious heritage, mythological, historical, wildlife, and beautiful architectural spots clubbed with physical activities and journals.

“India has been on our radar for a long time as a strong contender to hold an AdventureNEXT event,” said Shannon Stowell, CEO of ATTA. “There are many dedicated and talented Indian members of the ATTA and we are so thrilled to put on this event to partner with and support them,” he added.

Talking about his experience in India, Stowell added, “We were able to sample three different parts of the country, including Madhya Pradesh. It was amazing- rafting in the Ganges, on safari looking for tigers in a teak forest, and experiencing the cities of Bhopal and Delhi.”

The Adventure Tourism Operators Association of India (ATOAI) will be a key partner with ATTA for this event and has committed its unreserved support. Adventure travel sits at the intersection of commerce, conservation, and community, which will be a driving ethos for this event.
